National Stock Exchange Of India
The National Stock Exchange Of India otherwise known as the NSE is arguably the
premier stock exchange of India which has taken rapid strides since its inception in 1993.
NSE - A Brief History
NSE was promoted by some of the leading financial institutions of India. The NSE has a
vast network of over 1500 terminals spread across the length and breadth of India and provides
access to investors from all parts of the country.
NSE began it's operations with the Wholesale Debt Market segment in June 1994 and the equity segment
commenced operations in November 1994.
The major benchmark of NSE is the S&P CNX Nifty which is a group of 50 stocks which are actively traded
in the stock exchange.
The National Stock Exchange Of India (NSE) is well known for its technological advancements and is now offering derivatives trading which began
in November 2000.
